Somerville Working Fire Damages Apartment Building


On Thursday, September 8, 2022, at approximately 17:30 hours, the Somerville Fire Department responded to a call reporting a fire at 75 Myrtle Street in Somerville.

Upon arriving on the scene, Somerville firefighters immediately went to work to put the fire out. The flames were contained to the fifth floor of an apartment complex.

Firefighters were able to quickly calm the flames to avoid further damage to the building and its residents. Fortunately, no resident in the apartment building was injured and everyone got out safely.

It is currently unknown what caused the fire and this incident is still under investigation by the Somerville Fire Department.
