On Friday, September 9th, 2022, at approximately 21:08 hours, the Everett Fire Department struck box 314 for a house fire at 11 Pearl Street after receiving numerous calls.

Firefighters quickly responded. Due to the amount of calls, Everett C2, while in route, requested a working fire assignment to respond bringing all Everett apparatus to the scene. The first arriving company, Engine 2, reported that there was smoke and fire showing from a 3 story multi-family and the rear of the house was fully involved.

A 2nd alarm was quickly struck bringing mutual aid from Boston, Chelsea, Revere, Medford and Melrose to the scene as well as station coverage for the city.

Companies battled fast moving flames which weakened the structure, ultimately causing the home to collapse under the intense conditions.

1 firefighter was transported to the hospital with a minor, non-life threatening injury. Firefighters were able to save 3 kittens from the fire and reunite them with their owners. In total 20 residents were displaced by the fire and are being assisted the the MA Red Cross.
The Everett Fire Department is currently investigating the fire to determine the cause.
