At about 5:28 PM, on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force, arrested Messiah Murchison, 22, of Dorchester, on firearm related charges in the area of Fenwick Place and Circuit Drive.


While on patrol, officers observed a motor vehicle bearing no front or rear license plate, drive out of a parking space on Fenwick Place. At the sight of officers, the motor vehicle quickly accelerated and failed to stop at the intersection of Fenwick Place and Circuit Drive causing it to collide with another motor vehicle. Both vehicles suffered front end damage. Boston EMS arrived on scene and transported the driver of the second vehicle to a local hospital for evaluation.


The suspect, later identified as Messiah Murchison, was placed under arrest for Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operation after Revocation/Suspension. Officers also recovered a loaded firearm on the ground outside of the driver’s side door.

Murchison will be additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. The firearm was determined to be a Glock 26 9×19 with fifteen rounds in the magazine. Occupants in the suspects vehicle refused medical attention from Boston EMS and Boston Fire.
