Another Bomb Threat at Northeastern University Causes Panic Thursday Night

On Thursday, September 22, 2022, at approximately 23:00 hours, Boston Police Officers from District D-4, K-9 Unit, Northeastern Police and the Boston Bomb Squad responded to reports of a bomb at Northeastern University on 360 Huntington Avenue.

As soon as first responders received the threat, the students and faculty on the university campus were put under a shelter-in-place order and evacuations began. Police also informed students to stay clear of the Snell Quad and the Curry Student center. Crime scene tape could be seen throughout the campus blocking off the entrances to the property.

Nine days prior to last night’s incident, a package exploded on the university’s campus and injured a university professor. At this time is is unclear if the injuries faculty members was a victim or suspect. Luckily, last night the Bomb Squad and K-9 assets were able to search and clear the area with nothing found before giving it the all clear.

Police are still investigating this incident and there is no further information at this time. Detectives from District D-4 are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Any individuals with information can contact District D-4 Detectives at 617-343-5619.
