Police Chase Two Stolen Cars Across Boston Friday

On Friday, September 23, 2022, at approximately 01:00 hours, Boston Police officers from units B-2, C-11, D-4, and C-6 engaged in two vehicle pursuits following attempted traffic stops of two stolen vehicles which were subjects of a bolo. The suspects who reportedly stole the vehicles did so from a downtown garage before fleeing the area. Numerous units attempted to stop the vehicles multiple times throughout the city.

Police initially got reports of two vehicles stolen near Columbia Street, one of which crashed into Boston Police cruisers. Police put the driver who crashed the Mitsubishi in custody with EMTs, who took him by ambulance to a local hospital to get treatment for minor injuries. The other driver, who was in a white Kia, sped away.

Officers pursued the suspect down to Dudley Street and began to block it off, but the driver continued speeding towards Newmarket. Units decided to back off the chase in order to blockade him in an area.

After a long pursuit, police eventually called off the chase due to the driver speeding dangerously down the wrong way of a busy road. They later found the car abandoned in District D-4 and the suspect is currently still at large.

Police are still investigating this incident and there is no further information at this time. Detectives from District D-4 are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Any individuals with information can contact District D-4 Detectives at 617-343-5619.
