Booking Photo and Report: Officers Recover a Loaded Firearm After a Traffic Stop in Mattapan

At about 12:24 PM, on Saturday, August 27, 2022, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan), conducted a traffic stop in the area of 580 Harvard Street. As a result of the traffic stop, officers arrested Preston Tyler, 19, of Mattapan after he was found to be in possession of a firearm.

The loaded firearm was determined to be a Taurus 9mm with one round in the chamber and eleven rounds in the magazine.

He was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Resisting Arrest. Preston Tyler is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
