On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at approximately 19:20 hours, Boston EMTs and Boston Police officers from District A-1 responded to a 911 call reporting that a bicyclist had been struck by a box truck near Cambridge Street and Spice Street.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they immediately confirmed there was one biker who had sustained serious leg injuries from the accident. Although his injuries were initially deemed as non-life-threatening, the victim’s condition worsened as EMTs put him in an ambulance to receive treatment at a local hospital.

Police quickly began scanning the area for evidence and witnesses. They taped off the streets where the accident took place, and also closed off the Interstate 93 ramp. Witnesses say that this was not the only pedestrian struck in this area that night, and they believe the streets in this area are too dangerous for bikers.

Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, the supervisor on the scene later called full notifications. Homicide detectives, the fatal accident reconstruction team, and the truck team were all seen in the area working late into the night marking evidence.

The victim’s condition is currently unknown. Police are investigating the accident to confirm that there was no foul play, but there are no updates at this time.
