At about 18:05 hours, on Thursday, September 29, 2022, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) along with numerous other specialized units responded to a report for a person shot in the area of 625 Shawmut Avenue in Roxbury. You can listen to the police radio audio below:
On arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers immediately began to render aid and requested a push on EMS. Boston EMS quickly transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Due to the serious nature of the incident, the supervisor on scene made full notifications. Homicide Detectives, Crime Scene Response Investigators, Command Staff members and the District Attorney’s Office were all alerted and began responding immediately. Investigators could be seen placing evidence markers, photographing and searching the area late into the evening.
