BREAKING: Brazen Daylight Double Shooting Leaves 14-Year-Old Boy Dead and Another Juvenile Victim Hospitalized

On Monday, October 10, 2022, at approximately 12:18 hours, Boston EMTs and Boston Police officers assigned to Districts B-2, E-13 and the Gang Unit responded to a shotspotter activation and multiple 911 calls reporting that a person had been shot near 2990 Washington Street.

Upon arrival, Officers and EMTs located a 14-year-old juvenile male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds including to his face and torso. First responders immediately began to render aid in an attempt to save his life. Boston EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was tragically pronounced deceased.

Police also received calls reporting a shooting nearby on Cobden Street. When responders entered the apartment complex where the incident was reported, they found another juvenile victim with injuries consistent with a shooting. His wounds are considered serious and he was also transported by Boston EMS to a hospital for further treatment. He is expected to survive.

Due to the severity of the incident, the supervisor on the scene made full notifications. Boston Police personnel from the Homicide Unit, Crime Scene Response Unit, District Attorney’s Office and members of Command Staff all responded to the scene.

Noticeably absent from the heartbreaking and subsequent press conference was Boston Mayor Michele Wu as well as Top Cop Cox, who apparently both have tossed the long respected tradition of responding to these scenes and pressers out the window.

“Too many guns on our streets. This is another shooting in broad daylight,” said Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden during a press conference on the scene. “Our concern around these daytime incidents shootings has to continue to be our emphasis and our concern.”

Just last week a 18-year-old student at the Burke High School was shot by a fellow student on the steps of the school by a classmate in front of staff and parents. Hayden said, “I don’t remember responding to this many daytime shootings… There seem to be more and more of them, and we are concerned with what appears to be an increase in reckless conduct with firearms during the day, when people are out in the community.”

Investigators could be seen placing numerous evidence markers, searching for additional clues with K-9s and speaking to witnesses. A heavyset male who appeared to be in their teens was seen being taken into custody and placed into the back of a police wagon but the charges against him are unknown.

On scene however, Officials refused to identify the subject, comment on their involvement in the gruesome murder or even acknowledge the arrest. Law Enforcement sources on scene additionally told us that at least one firearm was recovered.
