On Sunday, October 9, 2022, at approximately 23:10 hours, Boston EMTs and Boston Police officers assigned to District E-18, as well as the K-9 Unit responded to a 911 call reporting that a person had been shot in the area of 428 Hyde Park Avenue in Roslindale.

Upon arrival, first responders located one adult male victim and confirmed his injuries were consistent with a shooting with wounds to his back and foot. As EMTs put him into an awaiting ambulance he appeared alert. EMS treated the man as he was taken to be further evaluated at a local hospital. Although serious, his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening and he is expected to make a full recovery.

E-18 police began scanning the area for witnesses and evidence. Witnesses say that there was a man wearing all black seen fleeing the area on foot after the incident, and he left a moped outside the apartments. Police searched for him through the night, but no arrests have been made yet.

Police are still investigating this incident and there is no further information at this time. Detectives from District E-18 are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Any individuals with information can contact District E-18 Detectives at 617-343-5607.
