Last Saturday, November 5, 2022, at approximately 23:20 hours, Boston EMS, Boston Fire, and Boston Police officers assigned to District B-3 responded to a call reporting an overdose at 194 Callender Street in Mattapan. The caller stated there were multiple people overdosing at the same time.
EMTs quickly arrived on scene and located two adult victims. One victim was described by EMTs as having, “agonal breathing”, and the other was in cardiac arrest. Boston EMTs Paramedics immediately began to work on both victims.
One victim was successfully stabilized and transported to Carney Hospital to be further evaluated. However, after a lengthy attempt to save them, the other victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. Neither victims’ identities have been released.
Currently, Boston Police have only configured that they are investigating a death, and would not say further but sources within EMS tell us this was a double overdoses. Police did say detectives are still actively investigating and reviewing the facts surrounding the incident.
The surviving victim is expected to recover. This incident occurred at a time where violence and drug use has been running rampant in Boston, and many residents wonder what changes need to be made to assist struggling Boston residents.
