State and Dedham Police Assisting Norfolk DA in Fatal Dirt Bike Crash Investigation

On Friday, November 11, 2022, at approximately 15:30 hours, Fallon EMTs, Dedham Police and Dedham Fire responded to multiple 911 calls reporting that a dirt bike had crashed into a parked car in the area of 107 Milton Street in Dedham.

First responders quickly arrived at the scene and were able to confirm there was one adult male victim in critical condition. Witnesses were seen performing CPR and other life-saving care on the victim as EMTs arrived.

The victim reportedly was suffering from multi-system traumatic, life-threatening injuries and was barely responsive as EMTs began to try to stabilize him. He was soon transported to Beth Israel Needham Hospital to receive urgent treatment. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital and was pronounced deceased. His identity has not been released to the public.

Due to the severity of the accident and the victim’s injuries, the Dedham Police requested the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office. Troopers from the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section (CARS) as well as Norfolk SPDU also responded to the scene to assist local Police with the investigation.

Milton Street was closed for hours as investigators marked evidence from the crash and spoke with witnesses. Sources on scene report that the victim seemed like he had lost control of his bike while going at a high speed, thus causing this devastating accident. There were no other injuries reported.

Both the parked car and the dirt bike sustained significant damage and huge shards of plastic and metal debris were seen laying in the middle of the street. No further information has been made public at this time.
