Juvenile Arrested after Stealing and Crashing Car Wednesday

On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, Boston Police officers assigned to both District B-3 and C-11 responded to reports that a car had been stolen and had fled away from the owner.

Police stopped the vehicle near Quincy and Columbia Street, but immediately and quickly took off away from officers. Police began to follow the suspect and eventually found the sedan crashed at 2 Wellesley Avenue. There was evident damage on the front and back of the vehicle and the lights remained on. The suspect was nowhere to be seen near the scene of the crash.

Police worked to set up a perimeter around the area of the crash and began scanning for more evidence and speaking to witnesses. A source on the scene stated that they saw a male, the possible suspect, running behind a house on Melville Avenue and hiding there.

Police urgently went to Melville Avenue to investigate and quickly found the suspect in question. The suspect was promptly placed under arrest. He is a juvenile from Dorchester so Boston Police have not made his name public. The charges he may face are still pending.
