Booking Photo and Report: Officers Assigned to Hyde Park Arrest Repeat Offender on 3rd Firearm Charge Following a Call for Shots Fired

From BPDNews: At about 11:02 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2022, Officers assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park) made an on-site firearm arrest of Rashad Berryman, 35, of Hyde Park.

Following a call for shots fired, Officers observed Berryman walking out of a wooded area.  Upon approaching Berryman, Officers observed what appeared to be a handle of a firearm protruding from his bag. Following a foot chase and a struggle, Officers were able to take Berryman into custody and recovered a loaded firearm.  The firearm was determined to be a 9 mm Smith and Wesson handgun with one (1) round in the chamber and fourteen (14) rounds in the magazine.

Rashad Berryman is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (3rd and subsequent), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number, and Resisting Arrest.
