Booking Image and Report: Officers Recover a Loaded Firearm After a Traffic Stop in Dorchester

At about 1:45 AM, on Sunday, November 6, 2022, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan), made an on-site firearm arrest of Michael Espejo Lozada, 24, of Charlestown, while in the area of Old Road and Columbia Road in Dorchester.

Officers were on patrol in the area when they observed a motor vehicle with heavily tinted windows traveling on Harvard Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop of the motor vehicle and made contact with the driver, later identified as, Michael Espejo Lozado. After further investigation, officers recovered a loaded firearm from the vehicle. The firearm was determined to be a Springfield Arms XD9 9mm firearm with eight rounds in the magazine.

Michael Espejo Lozado was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
