At approximately 19:45 hours on Friday, January 6th 2023, Boston Fire dispatched Engine 52 to 247 Woodrow Ave in Mattapan for a report of a local alarm. Upon arriving on scene, Engine 52 quickly requested the Box be struck.

Box 3625 was struck bringing the remainder of a full box response to the scene. Quickly going to work, companies found fire on the second floor of a three story brick apartment style building and stretched two lines.

Due to the aggressive attack by Boston Firefighters, the fire was quickly knocked down, preventing it from spreading throughout the building. Companies were able to knock down the fire within minutes of entering the building with hoselines.

Boston EMS assessed and treated one of the buildings residents for smoke inhalation, transporting them to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by the Boston Fire Investigation Unit.
