On December 4, 2022, at approximately 15:00 hours, a suspect entered a USPS location armed with a firearm at 8 Atherstone Street in Dorchester. He then robbed the letter carrier at gunpoint and exited the store.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 19 years old, 5’8″ tall, and had a thin build. At the time, he was wearing a black thermal face mask, a blue and white hooded sweatshirt, a black puffer jacket, grey sweatpants, and black and white shoes (possibly Crocs).
The US Postal Inspection Service is offering a $50,000 reward to individuals who can provide information or identify this suspect. Residents are reminded to take no action to apprehend the suspect themselves, and should instead call the US Postal Inspection Service at 1-800-876-2455 (say “Law Enforcement”). All information given will be kept strictly confidential.
