On the morning of January 18th, 2023, at approximately 01:00 hours, Boston Police officers assigned to District B-2 responded to a Shotspotter activation near Elm Hill Avenue and Schuyler Street. The Shotspotter detected multiple rounds in this area.

B-2 officers and detectives urgently responded to the incident and arrived swiftly. Once there, they began canvassing the area for evidence. They ended up finding 4 spent rounds in the street, but as they kept searching, found 7 more nearby. All spent shell casings were marked as evidence.

Police discovered a blue side mirror from a car that was suspected to be involved in the shooting. Police broadened their search, and eventually, they located a blue car near Blue Hill Ave and Seaver Street with the matching missing mirror and more extensive ballistic damage.

The driver of the vehicle was still by his car when police arrived. According to him, he was shot at while in the car and he fled away from the initial scene to get to safety. Luckily, he was not injured in the crossfire.

Soon after this, police began their search for a possible suspect. There were no suspect descriptions, and after multiple hours, officers were unable to make an arrest. The suspect involved in this shooting has not yet been identified.
