BREAKING: Shooting Behind Boston Police Headquarters in Roxbury Leaves Man Hospitalized Monday

At approximately 17:00 hours today, Monday, January 30 2023, Boston police officers assigned to District B-2 responded to a call for shots fired in the area of Prentiss Street in Roxbury behind Boston police headquarters. As officers were responding to the scene Boston Police operations began receiving additional 911 calls reporting that a man had been shot at that location.

When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male victim who appeared to have been shot twice to the upper body and officers immediately began to render aid while requesting EMS to their location.

Boston EMS quickly arrived on scene and began treating the victim before he was subsequently transported to a local area hospital for further care. At this time his injuries are considered serious, but non-life-threatening and he is expected to survive.

Officers quickly obtained a suspect description of two black males, dressed in all black wearing masks, and witnesses told officers they fled on foot from the scene towards Ruggles MBTA station. That information was broadcast over the radio for responding units however, no suspects were located.

Officers on scene cordoned off the area, and after a brief canvas, located numerous spend shell casings in the rear of 51 Prentice Street. District detectives responded to the location and could be seen photographing and marking the ballistic evidence in what appeared to be a courtyard of the public housing project.
