Overnight, on February 11, 2023, at approximately 21:00 hours Boston Police Officers from District B-2 received an 8-round ShotSpotter activation for the area of Dacia Street and officers quickly responded to the scene. Thanks to the Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC) cameras, officers were able to track down the suspect vehicles involved in the shooting. Both vehicles have now been located and processed by investigators.

At the scene, District Detectives processed evidence, including casings found on the back trunk lid of one car. The other vehicle they located in the area also showed signs of ballistic damage, leading authorities to believe this may have been a case of violent road rage.

However, the motive for the shooting remains unconfirmed at this time and Boston Police have not announced any arrests. This is a developing story and LB617 Team will continue to bring you updates as they become available.
