Boston Police Investigating Body of Half-Naked Woman Found in Annunciation Projects

Last night, February 18, 2023, at approximately 20:20 hours, Boston Police received a non-urgent 911 call from a resident at 58 Annunciation Road in the Annunciation Housing Projects. The caller requested assistance to remove a homeless person who had been sleeping in the hall for a number of hours. Officers from District B-2 as well as Housing Police both responded, but what they found was not a sleeping person.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered a half-naked female who was, stiff, cold, and unresponsive. Boston EMS was requested to the scene, and when they arrived they made the official pronunciation. The woman had been dead for hours before her discovery.

As is a common practice by Boston Police, given the nature of the incident, required full notifications to be made, prompting the Homicide Unit, Crime Scene Response Unit, Command Staff, and Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office to all be called to the scene. It is currently unclear whether or not there was any foul play involved in the victim’s death. However, the Medical Examiner is currently conducting an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.

The victim has not yet been identified, and no further information or arrests have been made at this time. Detectives assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and are urging anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact (617) 343-4275.
