A home on Quincy Street quickly turned into a 3-alarm call as the fire rapidly spread and engulfed all three floors of the primary house as well as neighboring structures. Boston Jakes worked tirelessly, trying to extinguish the fire from both the exterior as well as the interior of the affected buildings. Unfortunately, the fire had grown too fast and had spread to an adjacent house due to the close proximity of the two buildings.

The fire was eventually knocked down about an hour later, and Deputy Chief M. Hockings spoke with the media at the scene. The Deputy said that between the two houses that caught on fire, 15 people total have been displaced, two of those 15 being children.

The Red Cross of Massachusetts was at the scene helping with emergency placement for those who had been displaced. Authorities stated that one firefighter did sustain a shoulder injury at the scene and is currently being treated accordingly. The extent of the injuries is unknown as of this time.
