Boston Police Investigating Shots Fired in Roxbury Friday Evening

Boston Police Officers from District B-2 responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of Washington Street and Townsend Street yesterday, March 17, 2023, at approximately 6:15 p.m. The activation, which is part of the city’s gunfire detection system, alerted police to the sound of gunfire in the area.

Upon arrival, officers discovered ballistic evidence at the scene and quickly secured the area. They also canvassed the area for any potential witnesses and alerted district detectives to respond to the scene.
