At About 10:22 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2022, Officers assigned to District B-3 conducted a traffic stop resulting in an on-site firearm arrest of Markeith Walton, 19, of Hyde Park, and a 17-year-old juvenile male for violation of auto-laws.

Officers were responding to a radio call for a loud party on Talbot Avenue.  While responding to the radio call, Officers’ attentions were drawn to a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed down Blue Hill Avenue towards Westview Street.

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of 80 Talbot Avenue.  As they approached the vehicle, another vehicle stopped and stated that the vehicle that officers had pulled over had struck their vehicle and did not stop to exchange information.

While approaching the vehicle, Officers observed the rear driver-side passenger, later identified as Markeith Walton, place both his hands in the air as if he was surrendering.  When asked if there were any weapons in the vehicle, Walton stated, “yes… I have a gun on me.” The occupants of the vehicle were removed, and upon conducting a pat frisk, officers recovered a loaded firearm and placed Walton into custody without incident.
