The officers had stopped a motor vehicle for two equipment violations (Excessive Window Tint, No Front Plate Attached) when they learned that the operator, later identified as the suspect above, did not possess a valid driver’s license. Upon his removal, officers recovered a 9mm handgun from inside the vehicle. The unnamed firearm had a spent shell casing in the chamber and 16 live rounds of ammunition in the magazine.

The suspect was placed in custody without incident and will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2nd and Subsequent), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
