At about 4:10 PM, on Sunday, March 5, 2023, officers assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park), made an on-site firearm arrest of Calvin Morris III, 22, of Charlestown, and Luis Santiago-Cosme, 22, of Mattapan. Officers were responding to a radio call for a disturbance and were informed that the suspect may have a firearm. Officers were able to broadcast a description of the involved motor vehicle and the suspects.
Officers observed the suspect’s vehicle in the area of 718 American Legion Highway and conducted a traffic stop. After making contact with the occupants and further investigation, officers located two firearms from inside the vehicle. Officers immediately placed both suspects into handcuffs without incident. Officers recovered a Glock 30 with thirteen rounds in the magazine, and a Glock 19 with forty rounds in the magazine.
Morris was placed under arrest and charged with; two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and two counts of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Santiago-Cosme was placed under arrest and charged with; two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and two counts of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. They were both arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
