Crash on I-495 Leaves One Killed and Two Injured

On Saturday, April 29, 2023, at approximately 02:30 hours, there was a collision in Norton Massachusetts on I-495 North which is south of Exit 27. It was stated that one car struck the rear of the car in front of it, causing the driver to lose control. One person was killed, and two were injured.

Norton Police and Fire Department rushed to the scene of this two-car-collision where they were then able to determine that a Nissan Maxima struck a Toyota RAV4 that was in front of them. The Nissan driver lost control which resulted in the car veering off the highway and then the car later caught on fire. The Toyota RAV4 swerved from the impact and ended up hitting a guardrail.

Although the Norton Fire Department tried their best to work fast and diligently to put out the flames in the Nissan, they were just too late. The male victim inside the car was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as 52-year-old Jeffrey Tagger. The victims inside the RAV4 were two males, the driver, 48, and the passenger, 34. Both were transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Norton Police Officers stated that the two male victims injuries looked minor.

The cause of the crash is still under active investigation by Massachusetts State Police, the MSP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the MSP Crime Scene Services Section, and the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit. There is no further information at this time.
