At about 4:02 PM, on Monday, April 3, 2023, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End), responded to a call for a person with a gun in the area of 393 Massachusetts Avenue in Boston. Officers were notified by 911 dispatchers that Northeastern Police were in pursuit of the suspect, later identified as Dylan McConaga, 21, of Roxbury.
Upon arrival, Boston Police observed McConaga running down St. Botolph Street with a firearm in his hand, which he discarded onto the ground before being apprehended. Officers recovered a firearm from McConaga’s coat pocket. The firearm was determined to be a Ruger LC9s firearm with one round in the chamber and nine rounds in the magazine.
Dylan McConaga was arrested and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He was arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
