At about 10:18 PM, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury), made an on-site firearm arrest of Brandon Westbrook, 26, of Portsmouth, Virginia. Officers were on patrol in the area of Elm Hill Avenue and Brookledge Street, when they observed a motor vehicle fail to use its turn signal. Officers performed a CJIS query of the motor vehicle which revealed that the registration was suspended.
Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle. After making contact with the occupants and further investigation, officers recovered a loaded Glock 22 with one round in the chamber and four rounds in the magazine. Westbrook was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Operating a Motor Vehicle with Suspended Registration. He was arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
