Eight shots were fired at the intersection of Bird St and Sayward St last night at approximately 10:40 pm, according to police reports. Shotspotter first reported five shots, followed by three additional shots, which prompted a swift response from the Boston Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found evidence of ballistics in the intersection and immediately secured the area. District detectives were called to the scene to process the evidence and launch an investigation into the incident.

Despite the gunfire, no victims were located at the scene or in the surrounding area, leading investigators to believe that the intended target may have fled the scene.
