Chaotic Shootout in Roxbury Results in Three Arrested

In a harrowing incident on Sunday night, May 7, 2023, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury), District B-3 (Mattapan), and members of the Youth Violence Strike Force responded to Normandy Street and Brunswick Street for multiple reports of shots fired.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers were given a description of three suspects who were seen fleeing the area. As they were processing the scene, they saw three males jump over a backyard fence and gave chase. After a foot pursuit, officers were able to safely apprehend all three suspects.

The scene of the crime was a chaotic one, with approximately 40 rounds being fired across several streets including Brunswick St, Intervale St and Normandy St. Ballistics were also recovered in the park and behind the school, indicating the gravity of the situation.

Officers searched the backyard where the suspects had fled from and found three firearms. The firearms were identified as a Ruger SR9 with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine, a Smith and Wesson 5906, and a P80 Ghost Gun.

Jaheim Porter, 19, of Brockton was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Keondre Barrett, 23, of Dorchester was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Robert Barrett-Scott, 25, of Mattapan was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

It is unclear at this time what led to the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing. The authorities have urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in their efforts.
