Video – Dramatic Bodycam Footage of Firearm Arrest of 15-Year-Old in Boston Housing Project

In a newly released Body Camera Video from February 17, 2023, officers from the Boston Housing Police and the Boston Police YVSF made a firearm arrest during routine patrols in the city’s housing projects. The incident, which unfolded near 275 Centre Street, involved the arrest of a 15-year-old male who had a history of criminal activity, including a previous arrest for breaking and entering as well as trespassing. The encounter began when officers from the Housing Police approached the juvenile male, known to them for his prior run-ins with the law. Their intention was to discuss his ongoing trespassing activities. However, as the officers got closer, the suspect suddenly took off on foot while clutching his waistband. Officers initiated a foot pursuit and, after a short distance, they managed to apprehend the fleeing suspect. It was during the process of taking him into custody that a startling discovery was made – the young offender was found in possession of a loaded firearm concealed in his waistband.

Further examination of the firearm revealed it to be a Taurus G2C 9mm semi-automatic handgun. The weapon was loaded with one round in the chamber and an additional 12 rounds in the magazine. Authorities promptly seized the firearm as evidence. As a result of this alarming discovery, the 15-year-old juvenile now faces a series of serious charges. He has been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Trespassing.
